![]() Add some holiday cheer over the holidays by consider these tips and suggestions if you find yourself moving over the holidays. Your holiday season doesn't have to be ruin just because you are moving. First, call Scranton Moving and schedule your move; second, consider these tips and suggestions. Move after ChristmasConsider moving after Christmas instead of before. That period between Christmas and New Year's Day is very slow for most people and businesses. Many take off that week so pulling in family and friends to help with the move should be easily accomplished. Maintain a Holiday SpiritIf you are able to wait until the first of the year, we would recommend you do so. While moving over the holidays is certainly possible, why complicate the holiday season with a move. Further, as you pack up all the holiday decorations, just take the extra step of packing them for the move. Prioritizing your packing If you are planning to move, then everything should be packed prior to Christmas and New Years. Prioritize your packing to ensure you have all the essential items readily available to unpack that you will immediately needs, such as kitchen items, everyday clothes, toiletries, etc. After than pack and unpack all optional or immediately unnecessary items such as garage, basement items, etc. Remember you can always check less immediate items packed in boxes stored in your garage and/or basement indefinitely or until you need them. Of course, Scranton Moving can help you with both the packing and unpacking chores using one of our packing service levels. Moving mid-holiday But... if you must move smack dab in the middle of the holidays, we recommend leaving your house decorated as you do so. That way it will still feel like you are celebrating the holiday season despite having to move during it. Pack all your decorates at the very end to ensure you still enjoy the season. And when you arrive at your new residence, immediately unpack the decorations and put up so you never miss a beat in the holiday spirit of the season.
